Nice Drives recently completed a real driveway transformation project in Dorridge near Solihull, West Midlands. This new block paved driveway not only looks great, but it has provided much-needed parking space. The existing front garden layout provided no parking space at all and the boundary wall was in need of repair.
The first step of the driveway project was to completely excavate the front garden to make room for the new driveway. The cleared area was laid with mot type 1 for a hard foundation before covering it with a weed-control membrane to prevent any weeds under the sand. The new driveway features Charcoal R60s Eaton block pavers in a stretcherbond pattern. We installed an Aco Drainage system to take care of drainage and prevent surface water.
The new driveway has tidied up the front of the house immeasurably. It’s low maintenance, with no front garden to weed, and no hedges to trim. It has eliminated the need for a costly repair to the wall, and it has provided ample parking for residents and visitors.
Block paving is a popular choice for front driveways and when professionally fitted, with appropriate drainage it is a durable and functional surface. Choose from a large range of colours and laying patterns to suit your property.
